I'm Linden, originally from Boston, MA, and am currently in the BSN/MSN program specializing in Psychiatry/Mental Health with a minor in Palliative Care. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I look forward to working in psycho-oncology helping to address the countless psychosocial components of living with cancer as well as caring for oncology patients and their families from a psychiatric perspective. My passion for the psychology behind chronic and terminal illness is what initially sparked my interest in the Botswana program. Not only do I value the opportunity for cultural exposure and look forward to incorporating my experiences and heightened cultural sensitivity back into practice when I return, but I was also drawn to Botswana as it is a place where chronic and terminal illness can be rampant. I look forward to understanding more about the cultural influences that shape people's views on health and illness in Botswana as well as providing care to populations with chronic and terminal disease.
