Hi Everyone!
I’m Megan Rogers, a second-degree BSN/MSN student in the Family Health Nurse Practitioner track. I graduated last year from Vanderbilt University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Medicine, Health and Society. I plan to work as an RN between the Bachelor’s and Master’s portions of my degree, hopefully in pediatrics and/or women’s health.
I became interested in maternal and child health issues in the courses I took on medical anthropology, public health, and global health at Vanderbilt University. After a trip I took to Costa Rica to work in a pediatric primary care clinic with a few colleagues in college, I was hooked. I discovered Penn’s program while volunteering for the Global Health Council’s conference in DC a few years ago, where I met a Penn student who had participated in the pilot program in Botswana as well as some individuals from Botswana. Their stories and encouragement inspired me to apply to Penn, and I am excited to be able to experience the program first hand!
